Toronto Rock Sports Medicine & Wellness Centre GRIT Scholarship

The Toronto Rock Sports Medicine & Wellness Centre is committed to supporting the athletic development and well-being of young athletes in our community. As part of this commitment, we are pleased to announce a new, annual Scholarship Program, which aims to cover the registration costs for two deserving individuals, one male and one female, to participate in the TRAC Athletics Rockstars Lacrosse program.

The GRIT Scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female recipient who embody the attributes and values associated with having “grit”. In psychology, grit is defined as a positive trait characterized by perseverance of effort and passion towards achieving long-term goals.  While GRIT is an acronym for Growth, Resilience, Instinct, and Tenacity, the meaning of the acronym reflects the essence of grit — referring to one’s ability to show bravery and resolve when confronted with setbacks and obstacles.

We are seeking individuals who exhibit these traits to become our GRIT Athletes of the year. Each scholarship recipient will have their 2024-25 season Rock Stars registration fees paid for by the Toronto Rock Sports Medicine and Wellness Centre. The GRIT Athletes will be profiled on our website and social media sites and receive recognition on a commemorative plaque.
